Gopher Packing --
The Gopher family has disappeared into a hole. The youngest Gopher, who narrowly avoids the same fate, decides he has to find them and lowers himself into the hole as well. After exploring many twisting passages, he discovers a door with the words "TPS" marked on it. Entering the door he finds himself in the busy, highly-secure, and technical world of the Total Packaging System packing plant. Your objective: help the gopher survive the challenging environment inside the packing plant and ultimately aid him in finding his family. The factory you must explore is huge, complete with employees to talk to, doors to unlock, objects to find, mini-challenges to conquer, passwords to crack, and much more. A comic-styled intro, complete with an original music score, gets the storyline rolling and gives you your objective. Vibrant cartoon graphics and original cartoon characters combined with ultra-real atmospheric sound make you feel like you're right there in the action. Well, enough talk. Let's get packin'. UPDATE : Version 1.3 now available with Vista Compatibility. First part of Intro shows up as all white due to lighting issues but otherwise, runs fine. |
Shutdown --
TPS (Total Packaging Suppliers) has just invented a new packaging machine which will change the future of packing forever. However, just before this machine went into mass production, someone broke into the building and disabled all machines by draining them of power. Not only that, but they left several hazards to be sure that nobody would dare enter and restore power. However, they didn't count on something - you. Using a state-of-the-art, spherical robot you must navigate through the building, one floor at a time, restoring power to all packaging machines on that level. Charge up the robot with the spare batteries a careless mechanic left lying around the floor and then go charge up a packing machine. Complete all 10 levels to completely restore power and foil the evil plan of whoever did this. But beware. The enemy has not made this easy for you. They've setup a series of lasers, security pads, and doors to prevent you from carrying out your mission and if you aren't careful, you'll end up setting off the alarm and it's game over. Once you do finally succeed in charging all machines, the elevator will open and grant you access to the next floor. Well, let's get going - we don't have a moment to lose. |
Codename Countdown --
It is 2010. NASA has renewed their Lunar program and launched a manned flight to the moon. But something has gone very wrong. In the lunar entry process, an explosion rocks the spacecraft knocking out radio contact and damaging the electrical system. The crew climbs into the lunar module and succesfully lands on the moon. Using the metals and other parts of the module, they build a remote controlled Lunar Atmospheric Navigator (LAN) from the scrap parts of their Lunar Module and then use pieces from their rocket (which crashed a few miles away) to build their navigational headquarters. You are the flight controller. Using all your experience up to this point you must put your skills to the ultimate test of survival as you carry out various missions in the low-gravity atmosphere to ultimately result in your escape. By repairing outside equipment, carrying out dangerous operations, and attempting other similar missions, you hope that your tech crew will be able to assemble a sattellite rocket in time so that you can signal NASA of your dillema. With 5 challenging levels, loads of graphical effects, fully 3D landscape, and realistic audio effects, this game is one of Trek's best productions until this point. So what are you waiting for? The fate of this crew rests in your hands... |
Its World War II and the CIA receives some very disconcerting news. The Germans have been researching the little-known area of Nuclear Fission and are close to producing a bomb unlike any other known up to that point. In the heart of the Nazi Regime's headquarters is their nuclear labaratory containing all the information and equipment regarding this bomb. It would be too dangerous to blow up the plant since some have said the bomb would trigger a chain reaction and its too deep in German territory to send an army assault against the city. There is only one solution - the U.S. Green Berets. In this exciting 3D movie, join a U.S. Special Op as he infiltrates the plant in a desperate attempt to destroy the lab's database and prevent Nazi world domination. All scenes were programmed in DarkBASIC and recorded with Fraps so they could be edited in Windows Movie Maker. The building models were made with 3D World Studio as part of the IncaPro Demo on their website. |
HalfPipe Torino --
Its the 2006 Olympics in Torino. You're part of the U.S. Snowboarding team and have exactly 2 minutes to show the judges what you've got. Flip, spin, and somersault your way to victory in this exciting, action-packed game. After you earn up enough points, you can drop by the shop to buy yourself new snowboards and/or snowboarders. Then head over to the options chalk-board to switch the time and conditions in which you compete. There's also a nice graphical fireplace with the two credit plaques mounted next to it. This game was programmed in only a month and was the first Trek Production using Nuclear Glory Collision so there are several bugs but overall, its great fun and well worth the download. Beta-testers have even declared it more fun to play than D3's last production, Codename Countdown and with 3 snowboarders, 4 snowboards, and 5 tricks, there's alot of neat things you can do with it. The in-game controls are as follows: - Upkey = Move snowboarder forward - Left/Right keys = Steer snowboarder - Regular numbers (not numpad) 1 through 5 = Do trick with 1 being easiest and 5 being hardest Please note that the menu control system is somewhat unique. You use the arrowkeys to choose an option while in the main room, you press enter to select it, then in the shop, options, and play menus, you switch to using the mouse. |
Tech Demo I -- This was one of D3's first programs with DarkBASIC Pro and showcases some of the amazing features of the language. It has sphere mapping, particle effects, md2 models, and more. |
Tech Demo II -- This second tech demo demonstrates the blistering speeds of DarkBASIC Pro. On a fairly slow laptop it still runs at 60 frames per second and the entire code is less than 150 lines (most of it spent loading images for the animation). |
Speedboat Fisher -- Motors roaring, steering wheel spinning, fish splashing, sound effects blaring, and all the while your getting better at one of the most important computer skills - typing. Speedboat Fisher was D3's entry to theGameCreator's Teach Yourself Touch Typing contest. The bad news is that it didn't win the contest. The good news is that this means you can now try out this production for yourself. With 4 levels, cutting-edge graphics, high-quality sound effects, amazing animation, and a polished feel to it, you'll practically forget that all the while your becoming a faster, more accurate typist. |
Soccer Extreme -- 10 seconds left on the clock...the score is tied...red player is sprinting across the field to widen his lead...WHAM!! He makes a shot...5 seconds left...blue player intercepts it and charges down the field...2 seconds left...he shoots...ball bounces off the post and SCORES!! CB's latest production, Soccer Extreme, is fast and furious. Possibly the first soccer game ever made with DarkBASIC, this game is a worthy start. With both one and two player modes, as well as a host of gameplay options, you'll always have a challenge as you attempt to defeat each mode. Menu interface is smooth and action-packed with a highly detailed club house where you can read the rules and change the options. You can also pause the game at any time and return to the menu or windows without going through the whole alt+f4 process. Besides all this, it also comes with a fully 3D intro to give you the feel of the game. Soccer Extreme - The Challenge Begins. |
Ice Hockey II - Penguins from all ends of the earth are coming to watch the great showdown. But they're not just coming to see the event, they want to see whether the new Arctic manager can accomplish the seemingly impossible. To conquer the five best Antarctic players in the world with a makeshift team where each player agrees to play only if the player before him wins his match. That manager is you. The weight of the world is on your shoulders as you use all your skills to lead the Arctic pengunis to victory in the grand tournament. Are you up to the challenge? In the single player mode, you begin by playing your I. C. Byrd against the Antarctic's novice member in the first phase of the tournmanet. If you lose, you must try it again until you get the hang of it. If you win, you unlock the next Arctic player and the next phase of the game. Progress through the levels until you reach the ultimate challenge - Boss versus Boss. Beat him, and the title "King of the Poles" will be yours. While tackling the job of winning the grand tournament, head on over to the side rink to challenge a friend with a two-player game for some friendly competition and practice for the real game. Also, keep your eye peeled on the single player mode for the several hidden cheats and strategies in the game. (Hint: The Programmer Blog is often an excellent place to find these types of cheats and tips). On the graphic-packed menu you can read the storyline behind the competition, view a list of those who contributed to this production, and learn the controls in the Help section. Or, you can just lean back and enjoy the several graphical effects including a cloud-shadow effect from the clouds passing overhead. UPDATE : Version 3.2 now available with Error 10 while loading images fixed and zipped file format (installer removed) |
Alley Squirrel - You are on a mission. A mission to find and capture the most dangerous criminal of the century. As an undercover agent you roam the alleys of Chicago searching for clues that will help you arrest and indite a vicious gangster who robs banks and sells the gold in a complex black market.
With three exciting levels each with an intense final challenge and climactic Ultimate Challenge, you will never be bored as you attempt to defeat the powers of evil in this completely 3D game.
The storyline includes a full blown 3D Intro Movie, several Outro Movies, and many briefings, and top secret documents to enhance the gameplay and atmosphere of the missions.
On the menu, you can learn how to play the game, view the list of people who contributed to making it, and speed up the game by switching the sounds and/or music off. These features are all showcased in an original style that makes setting up the game so much more fun than on a traditional menu. Update : Wallpaper link fixed and now available. |
Parashooter - This game was inspired by Trek Vice-Manager CB and produced by D3. CB had started on an original text based game where you'd have a little man parachute out of a plane with walls across the screen and a 4-digit code in the middle. To knock down the walls and continue you'd have to type in the code. But before finishing it, he began work on Soccer Extreme so D3 made a 2d graphics version of it using a 3D Engine and text based walls. Update : Version 2.0 is now available with a menu, better graphics, better sounds, and a more stable game engine. |
Clue Suspect List - While Alley Squirrel was officially under production, D3, had cut work short to program this production. It is basically a computer version of the suspect list in the game CLUE. The full board game isn't included but the list and a suspenseful 3D intro is. He programmed this to use instead of the paper slips that come with the game and also just to try a couple new 3D effects that are scattered throughout the menu, intro, help screen, and ABOUT page. It has a nice array of original graphics created by D3 and a hassle-free interface that's perfect for use during the real board game. |
Sub Hunter - Trek's first completely 3D game. This took D3 approximately 16 hours to program and is based on a little known classic called "Depth Charge". If you press control while on the menu it will reset the high score. The best way to get the most subs is to make a sweep run. In other words, drop bombs at equal intervals creating a diagonal line of bombs to sweep the ocean clear of those pesky subs. Note : Version 2.0 is now available for download with a much less aggravating menu system (no more five minute fade-out-to-black scenes), a huge graphics update, sound update on the menu, better structured game engine, smaller size, and an install engine to make the setup process easier than ever.

Freedom 10-4 -- Trek's first 3D program. Since D3 has always liked the intro scenes to games he's played even better sometimes then the games themselves he decided to make one big intro scene. That's right this is a completely 3D based movie created in DarkBASIC that you can download right here to watch on your computer. It was made shortly before the 2004 election and features action-packed air combat, great intercom voice effects, and one fascinating storyline. As with all other games, feel free to use the graphics, music, and models for your own games. |
Skeet Shootout -- After approximately 5 hours of work D3 completed his first completely non-text game...Skeet Shootout!! This game is a media and action packed computer version of the well known game of skeet shooting. Psssst! This game also is the first game with a cheat. Press the spacebar when on the menu to reset your brothers Hi-Score. |
Text Blaster - Trek's first game with graphics, 3D sound, and animations. This game originated from an idea D3 read in a book called "Begginners Guide to DarkBASIC Programming" by Jonathan Harbour and Joshua Smith. He liked the concept of it and therefore turned it into a game with a goal and then touched it up with 3D sound...etc. While it can get somewhat reptitious it is amazingly fun to put your typing skills to the limit as you pound away in your effort to stop the falling text storm. |
RISK Simulator -- This program originated from a problem given D3 by his uncle. He wanted to know that if in the game RISK the offense had a better chance of winning then the defense. The basics of the problem is this. The offense rolls three dice
against two dice of the defense. The offense then takes
the greatest of his three dice and compares it with the
greatest of the defense dice. The greater one in this program
gets one point. Or if they are equal the defense gets one point
Then he compares the second highest of his three dice with the
last defense dice. The highest one gets a point or again if they
are equal the defense gets a point. An example is:5 -- 4 Offense gets point 2 -- 2 Defense gets point |
Arcade Racer - This game still has a 1993 graphics scheme (except with a greater variety of colors) but is still great fun to play. Basically the game is that two players are racing each other to the finish line by rolling a dice. It has added shooting effects...music scheme...and a new attempt at credits. |
Etch-A-Sketch - This game is a reproduction of the classic toy
known as an Etch-A-Sketch. It is a program that draws
semi-3D and 2D scenes. This was Trek's very first program and thus
isn't as fast-paced as some other games you might find. However it
is extremely fun nevertheless. |
